LCCI International Qualifications,
the UK’s leading international awarding
body for vocational business qualifications, has
teamed up with James Watt College (JWC), one of
the UK’s most dynamic higher education institutions,
to offer a new pathway for its successful candidates
to achieve degrees from highly regarded UK universities.
The new partnership will enable LCCI candidates
who achieve three LCCI Level 3 certificates to
progress to the four months LCCI Graduate Access
Programme (LCCI GAP) and from then on to a JWC
Higher National Diploma (HND) course. After the
HND, successful candidates can progress directly
to Year 3 of Accounting Degree Programmes from
three UK universities.
Speaking of the collaboration Sean Leslie, Asia
Managing Director for LCCI International Qualifications
said “The new LCCI GAP pathway means that
LCCI candidates can now achieve a UK Accounting
degree within two years and they will also get
the additional benefit of a fully accredited UK
HND as part of the process. I am delighted that
LCCI is going to be associated with a high quality
and fast moving institution in James Watt College
and this partnership represents a major stride
towards our goal that LCCI candidates get full
recognition for the high standards they achieve.
Over the coming months and years we will put in
place the comprehensive range of academic and
professional pathways that successful Asian LCCI
students deserve.”
“This initiative also represents our commitment
to support Singapore’s regional educational
hub aspirations. Although LCCI operates across
Asia and receives a 150,000 examination entries
from the region annually, the LCCI GAP programme
will initially only be available in Singapore
and we expect students from many other Asian countries
to come to Singapore to take advantage of this
new opportunity”, added Leslie.
Professor Bill Wardle, Principal of James Watt
College also welcomed the collaboration, “James
Watt College (JWC) has a commitment to expand
vocational learning opportunities with the aim
of empowering student’s potential. We believe
the new pathway we have developed with LCCI does
exactly that and we look forward to welcoming
LCCI students into our programmes.”
The first LCCI GAP programme will commence in
January 2006.
