The
Launch
The London Chamber of Commerce and Industry International
Qualifications (LCCI) and MYOB Asia have announced
the launch of the jointly developed LCCIEB-MYOB
Computerised Accounting as an additional subject
to the LCCI accounting certification programme.
The business and financial community can look
forward to reaping the benefits of this first-of-its-kind
collaboration between the two parties. This module
will combine the best-of-breed expertise from
MYOB, a prominent business management software
company and the academic track record of LCCI,
an international qualifications board.
LCCI General Manager for Asia, Sean Leslie and
MYOB Asia General Manager, Bernard Yap both welcomed
the partnership as it represents the beginning
of a strategic alliance linking the education
and corporate worlds.
LCCI-MYOB Computerised Accounting will be introduced
regionally in 24 countries throughout Asia including
Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, China, Indonesia
and the Philippines.
Mr. Yap stated, “We are especially pleased
that this partnership began in Asia as it confirms
Asia’s role as an innovator in the global
education market. LCCI-MYOB Computerised Accounting
combines LCCI’s century of qualification
design experience and MYOB’s expertise as
one of the world’s leading business software
companies.”
Targeted to be rolled out throughout the rest
of the world by the second quarter of 2004, Mr.
Leslie said that LCCI-MYOB Computerised Accounting
taps into existing demand for LCCI financial qualifications
and focuses on markets where there is an awareness
of computerised accounting. One of its main attractions
is that it offers a certificated alternative based
on the promise that LCCI is a passport to employment.
“Continuous development is vital in today’s
rapidly evolving business world. LCCI always strives
to ensure that students are competitive and up-to-date
with international working practices. In light
of the increasing demand for Computerised Accounting
in the financial world, LCCI sought a technology
partner with a strong brand to complement our
range of financial subjects” Mr. Leslie
said.
LCCI-MYOB Computerised Accounting is the computerised
extension of LCCI’s theoretical financial
papers and complements the accounting certification
program because it gives students hands-on practical
computerised accounting skills in a real-world
business environment. It allows accounting professionals
to keep up to date with the newest market practices
in accounting software whilst being certified
for it.
Current certificate holders may use this new
subject with other LCCI subjects to combine for
a Diploma or take it as a stand-alone certification.
LCCI - MYOB Computerised Accounting is available
for both Levels 2 and 3 and is ideal for:
- Accounting executives who need to update their
accounting skills to the computer age
- Students entering the job market and employees
who are keen to improve their career prospects
- Companies who demand competent staff qualified
to international standards
- As well as becoming proficient in computerised
accounting, students’ knowledge of MYOB
Premier software and its in-built reports and
business analysis tools will give them a real
head start in today’s competitive job
market.
LCCI-MYOB Computerised Accounting is assessed
by practical assignments, which can be taken at
any time and is supported by a comprehensive range
