Business and Secretarial Qualifications
Business Administration
: Levels 1 -3
These qualifications have been
developed for those who work, or wish to work,
in areas of business that involve an understanding
of business administration. The qualifications
test a candidate's understanding of basic routine
administration, procedures and standards and also
their knowledge of standard office equipment,
business services, supplies and management support.
Business Practice
: Levels 2 - 3
These qualifications are aimed
at candidates who wish to demonstrate their knowledge
of the main functions of business activity and
their understanding of the individual's contribution
to the business organisation. The qualifications
test a candidate's understanding of the influences
on the business organisation and what the success
factors of the business might be.
Principles and
Practice of Management : Level 3
This qualification is suitable
for candidates who work or intend to work in management.The
aim of the qualification is to give candidates
a broad understanding of the role of management
within organisations. Candidates are required
to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of
the principles, purposes, processes and practices
of management.
Business and Industrial
Administration : Level 3
This syllabus, designed to test
understanding of the core activities of administration
in the business world, has been completely revised
and updated for first teaching from September
2007, and first examinations from November 2008.
The qualification covers all aspects of business
including marketing, finance and personnel and
also includes new learning aims relating to new
technologies.
Meetings : Levels
2 - 3
The syllabus has been revised
and updated for first teaching from September
2007 with first examinations in November 2008.
Additional learning aims relating to health and
safety, disability access and new technologies
have been combined to ensure candidates gain a
thorough undertsanding of how to arrange, conduct
and review meetings.
Text Production
: Levels 1 - 3
These qualifications are suitable
for those who wish to demonstrate proficiency
in transcribing business documents from printed/handwritten
copy. Candidates should be able to keyboard accurately
at speeds up to 50 words per minute.
